17/6/2013 ‘Of Gods & Monsters’ tracklist

With air thick as creosote and the sharp blue of the past days covered in an ominously darkening grey, this will be a quick listing of tracks before pulling the plugs on all electrical devices. Of course, a dramatic storm splitting the sky seems appropriate for the subject of this week’s focus on The Kitchen Sink, which took it’s title from the fictionalized account of the last days of ‘Frankenstein‘ director James WhaleBill Condon‘s 1998 film ‘Of Gods & Monsters’.
Due to the length of a couple of the tracks, there was only time for ten pieces on the theme, starting with some dark Americana from Robert Fisher‘s collective:

1)WILLARD GRANT CONSPIRACY – BRING THE MONSTER INSIDE /from ‘Flying Low‘/ Slow River 1998

That epic from Stephen O’Malley‘s project with Anthony Sylvester and Alexander Tucker, which provided the show’s most difficult pronunciation, brought the show to a close on what seemed a sultry night but which, compared to the present, now appears comparatively mild!
Thanks this time go to Christina Chra Nemec of Comfortzone for the track by The App, the Vienna-based analogue synthesizer projects she’s a member of.
Until next time, wishing you all many a refreshing sonic delight, S.
