14/4/2014 TKS Presents: ‘Let There Be Light!’ tracklist

It was a tad strange to be broadcasting some rather dark sounds from a 5th floor studio while aware that much of the city centre nearby was throbbing (or perhaps, considering the alcoholic consumption, awash would be more appropriate) with hockey fans celebrating Kometa Brno’s qualification for the Extraliga final, but that was the situation and some transporting sounds soon had thoughts of pucks on ice and blue-and-white scarves hanging over ample beer bellies disappearing, firstly replaced by imaginings of what the German Rock ‘N’ Pop Museum, now home to Can‘s Weilerswist studio, must look like….

And there the 60-minute sonic voyage, and any mystery surrounding the origin of the show’s title, ended. An alternative title might have been ‘5 Uneasy Pieces’, but perhaps the otherworldly sound of Blind Willie Johnson‘s voice would have made it 6.
Til next time, wish anyone perusing this many a musical  gem, S.

The Kitchen Sink broadcasts every Monday at 10 or 10.05 p.m C.E.T on http://www.radior.cz
