8/6/2015 & 15/6/2015 TKS Presents: ‘All That Jazz Pt.1 & Pt.2’ tracklists

Two programmes devoted to the many diverse forms of jazz, with tracks from around the globe reflecting the influences of the genre and just how versatile Adolphe Sax instruments can be,  from producing short punky coughs and blasts to transporting soundscapes….

That piece from Alice Coltrane‘s wonderful ‘Universal Consciousness’ album brought the second of the sonic voyages through the world (given Sun Ra‘s shining presence, perhaps that should be Universe) of jazz to a close. Given how many tracks had to be cut to fit in the pair of 60-minute focuses, it won’t be long until there’s a third! Thanks this time to Pino Montecalvo for the BZ BZ UEU track. And to those who contacted me to say they couldn’t hear the broadcast of Pt.1, much-appreciated – without them, who knows how long the radio station would have been broadcasting its test signal! Til next time, wishing you all many a sonic delight, jazzy or otherwise! S.
